Teen Portraits Mandy Set 005: The Challenges and Benefits of Creating and Viewing This Project
In 2016, Mandy Moore narrated the video for "People I Want to Punch in the Face" by YG and DJ Mustard. Speaking to the Huffington Post, she explained that it was challenging to film because she doesn't like to watch herself. But ultimately, the final product turned out so well. It was good to be able to use your body again, Mandy told HuffPo. She explained that instead of just walking and talking, she had to act in a way that made her feel comfortable. It was really hard to be looking at myself in those wide, wide eyes and say the things I had to say to myself. It was a very powerful thing for me to be able to do that and have someone else see me saying those things.

In March 2009, Moore posted a pic on her blog titled "Heartbreak" with the caption "My heart just broke." She explained to People that the pic was inspired by the book Forever Your Girl by Leighton Meester. It took her a couple of hours to get into a position for the photo. Then she had to act like she was going to be attacked. Her parents separated when she was four years old. She told People that the single mom of her and her siblings actually raised all five of them by herself. She told People that she almost married the guy who fathered her with her high school sweetheart but then she met a 23-year-old who was also single. That was my blunder,' Mandy admitted. The couple was married for four years before she saw the photo of Ryan Adams. Even though her ex-husband is still her ex-husband, she definitely feels as if she's free of that relationship. I feel so much better. There's no weight to it. There's no pressure. It's all gone. I don't know how it's gone so quickly. It's gone because I do have a life again. And I've got Ryan out of it. I'm fortunate I guess.
